It's Official!

Hello again!

It has been a little over a week since January Journalism was announced. I viewed all the blogs of the participants and I have to say well done everyone! All your blogs were fancy and memorable. This month's four new Journalists are: 

Omiguy:

Congratulations Omi! I did love your blog, and you have an awesome header!

Bebot:

Congrats Bebot! Your blog is very neat and I love where your header says "Re-Opening Edition"

Tacodung(myself):

Congrats buddy. You made the cut. Mom would be proud of you, ...After she stops laughing at the fact you still play on the site you did when you were 14.

Agent101:

A final congratulations to Agent101 for his blog. You should buy the domain "bomb.com" because your blog is deserving of it.

All Journalists for this month have been given their perks(mentioned in previous post). You all did a wonderful job, great blogs. I'm glad we're all doing this and I'm glad that it is being noticed. We can't stop now, Journalists! We must go full steam ahead.

2017 January Journalism

Greetings and Happy New Year everyone!

2016 has come to an end, and from what Katara says, the blogging side of the Chotopia community has been slacking! I would have to agree. We need to get back in gear and get the blogs back up 'n' running! Everyone is able to start a blog, you don't have to be a Journalist! Start a blog today to keep the community updated, as the Chotopia Staff can be very busy at times, and need US to help out! 

Keep in mind that ANYONE can do this! Although, there are some special requirements for those who wish to become a Journalist in the Chotopia community. These requirements are as follows:

• Your blog should be updated at least weekly. (If you will not be on for a while, inform any member of staff, and they will take care of it.)
• Posts you make must be created BY YOU! (You must also have sufficient grammatical skills, and use what I would call the "cool HIP lingo")
• You may NOT copy directly from any other blog, including the main Chotopia blog.
• You ARE allowed to use images from the main blog. (I used the Journalist Program image in this post.)
• You must have at least ONE active author, and no more than THREE authors.

These guidelines are simple enough to follow, and I'm sure many of you can't wait to start your blogs and become a Journalist! Not only will you be called a Journalist, you will receive special perks! The perks Journalists will receive are:

• A special Journalist badge on your profile with the title of your blog, as well as an exclusive playercard
• You will be given the Feather Pen item automatically
• The ability to private chat a moderator even if their playercard is blocked
• Moderators will bookmark YOUR blog
• Your blog will be featured on the Offical Blog
• A purple nametag

The rewards/perks all sound wonderful and I can't wait to see who all is chosen for January Journalists!

New Location & Quest!

Hello All!

There has been a brand new location added by Jack (formerly Wolf)! A pirate ship in space! To access this location, head to the Mission Street(outside Mission Agency) and there is a wooden ladder to your left.

This new location features a pirate themed catalog(which is the old-style paper hanging on the wall to the left side), as well as a brand new quest! To receive the quest, speak to the character directly to the right known as Captain Chokru. He ran his ship into our planet, and seems to be in need of some space wood to repair his ship to set sail once again! You can help him out, and you will receive a special item in return!

News Article Contest Results

Greetings, all! 

     On 8 Nov 2016, a News Article Contest was held for Chotopia. I expected a larger amount of participants, but the contest was fun regardless! 

     The contest in a nutshell was to come up with an interesting story, and turn it into a news article using their given Chobots News template.
   
The actual guidelines and conditions: 
            1. Although there is no theme, your job is to find out what is going on in Chotopia. To make it interesting, it has to be "breaking news". 
           
            2. Remember to answer the 5W's of your imaginary event! Note that you will be assessed on facts, creativity, and effort. 
            
            3. Of course you may decorate your news feature by making edits to the template. 

            4. You must enter your submission in the comment section of this post, not elsewhere. Please only provide an imgur link. 
            
            5. Entries are limited to one per individual and may not be shared. For example, if you are interviewing another Chobot in your article, only the original writer will be credited. 

     The due date for entries was 16 Nov 2016, and there were two participants. Myself(Tacodung) and Omiguy.

Congrats to my fellow participant, Omiguy for a wonderful news story! It was very interesting to me, and very creative. I loved it. 

Both Omiguy and I were awarded with 10 days of Citizenship, 10,000 bugs, and a red rosette!
